Since your's install is an experiment I don't figure what's your's gnome3 problem.
And the mystic message is come from?
Quote
What session tries lghtdm/gdm to start when you want gnome session ?
gdm is not installed and gdm3 do not work -> black Sceen. With lightdm and kdm the gnome session give me the known mystic message.

I have told you, If you want to do a fresh mixed install of both desktop environments I can help you.
Ok. - I will install an new siduction-System from siduction-13.2.1-december-gnome-i386-201401272119.iso with my old /home-Partition.
How can I than install the KDE-full Desktop?

Hi,

When you have installed gnome december do a dist-upgrade whitout -f
If after dist-upgrade gnome is still working we will add also kde packages.

After d-u if all ok please tell me to proceed with kde packages.

After d-u if all ok please tell me to proceed with kde packages.
Gnome will working well with gdm3, kdm and lightdm.

Gnome 3.8.4 - why?
After D-U in Runlevel 3 can't enter the Gnome-session (lightdm) with the old known mystic message.
I belief in the newest Version of gnome-shell is a fatal bug.
Perhaps the program 'localepurge' is the reason for this fatal mystic message.
Code: [Select]
$ apt-cache search localepurge
localepurge - Freigeben von Festplattenplatz durch Entfernen nicht benötigter Lokalisierungen

I have make the installation again without the installation of 'localepurge' and it works well.
Only my program-favorites:
Code: [Select]
apt-get install krusader konsole kwrite kate ding wish dolphin systemsettings icedove guake clipit byobuhave I installed.
Code: [Select]

Hi Hanisch,

Great that you discovered the reason.
If you want to install kde also you can use in installed gnome:
addpkg kde
and that should be all.

Greetings ConvBSD.

Thank you, but how can I delete the GuestAdditions with a Live-DVD?

S o l u t i o n:
Code: [Select]
nount /dev/sda1 /media/x
mount -o bind /dev /media/x/dev
mount -o bind /sys /media/x/sys
mount -t proc /proc /media/x/proc
cp /proc/mounts /media/x/etc/mtab
cp /etc/resolv.conf /media/x/etc/resolv.conf
chroot /media/x /bin/bash -i

cd /opt/VBoxGuestAdditions-4.3.16
sh ./uninstall.sh
exit

The deletion of GuestAdditions in my first Installation from KDE-Desktop is possible with
Code: [Select]
/opt/VBoxGuestAdditions-4.3.16/uninstall.shNow I can without GuestAdditions run the Gnome-session again.

Well, the reason for the mystic message are VirtualBox-GuestAdditions .

Newest gnome-shell is not compatible with VBoxGuestAdditions-4.3.16 from ORACLE https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads

I have installed as you i386 december gnome, done a d-u and added using "addpkg kde" kde packages over installed gnome.
All went ok and I have now both kde and gnome.

Das ist nicht die von mir verwendete Original von ORACLE downloaded VirtualBox 4.3.16 mit zugehörigen GuestAdditions.
https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads
Wo hast Du die Version 4.3.14 her (unstable/non-free)?
Welche Host-Distro verwendest Du?
Mein System in der VirtualBox ist 32 Bit.

Most likely that's what causes your problem (using original Oracle VB instead of Debian adapted VB).

Have a close look @
Code: [Select]
# apt-cache policy virtualbox virtualbox-guest*
Ok, you can't code, but you still might be able to write a bug report for Debian's sake

Yes, but I find no way in aptosid install virtualbox from Repositories.
In synaptic I find:
virtuabox 4.3.14
virtualbox-guest-additions-iso
virtualbox-guest-dkms
virtualbox-guest-utils
virtualbox-guest-x11
which package should installed in Host and in Guest?

I have now installed VBoxGuestAdditions-4.3.14 from https://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/12941
It works also under siduction-December for gnome-session, but only Shared Folder are successful.
Under siduction-Firestarter works in gnome-session and KDE-session, but without any effects.

Please tell us "aptosid" is a typo (schreibfehler).

virtualbox 4.3.14
virtualbox-guest-additions-iso
...

That's what your looking for, but please, have a look what's in your sources list. And synaptic isn't the supported way to install (ok for searching, if you feel you need it).

But why not from xterm/konsole:
Code: [Select]
apt-cache policy virtualbox virtualbox-guest*
