Thanks, but I wanted to change the pictures folder for the Screensaver. I had the Cinnamon screensavers, etc; but had to install the basic Xscreensaver program and run "xscreensaver-demo" to get the advanced settings. Once that was accomplished, restarted the computer and done.  SOLVED

IT is exactly what I would like to avoid.
Just think about deactivating and reactivating when you gotta move an icon...

The point is: why do positions resist to some reboots and not to some others?

Right click on the desktop -> icons -> locked ?   :)
