So far so good...

After installation has been performed (now just some minor customizations will follow), I can happily tell that not only all my hardware was recognized at first shot (including my Canon S100 camera within kamera) but also that double screen has been immediately configured right and that also multimedia part (even if I have taken out the extra Audigy soundcard because I do not need it in the present setting, but I am sure that phonon would have managed it great) did not need a single config by me. I would call this pretty much SPECTACULAR.

Also, installing on preformatted xfs partitions with internal log for performance was recognized by the installer without a glitch. I am thinking that this is by far the best release ever, taking away the config fuss from the average user and letting him concentrate on the work and fun rather than on headaches on how to make things run smooth.

This is a copy of my inxi -F for referral:

So, very HUGE compliments to the dev team, for making all of this happen, guys you really kick some major ass!
It brought me back pleasure into sid computing, after a long survival with a broken kde4.
I will also respawn the ridersonthestorm screen for login, it's soooo cool, especially for bikers like me.

One note for future upgrades: not always a du is enough, like it has been in the transitions from kdm to lightdm to sddm, and how it will be, for example, in the future wayland transition. It would be nice to have detailed "transitional notes" either when there's a new release (like at old sidux times) or whenever necessary. It could also be some section on the website (which could also signal current du alerts), but the message here is clear: no matter how the information would be given, the user should follow faithfully upgrade instructions from the devs.

Thank you again for making all this coolness happen!

My observations when this bug occurs:
a) chromium seems to be totaly unresponsive (clicking around, switching
tabs, scrolling appears to do nothing)
b) switching to a virtual terminal, e.g. Ctrl-Alt-F1 and then back to X11
makes it work again
c) the browser catches up with all activities it failed to respond to while

Dort wird der Fehler für Intel-, Nvidia- und AMD-Video bestätigt :(

Thanking you. is giving the right server destination. Just doesn't verify, so I assume the problem is either with torguard not getting verification from the URL it is trying to look up or a problem with configuration on my computer.

welcome to siduction. I personaly have not used Torguard (or much anything related to Tor) other than for a quick test. So let's see if someone else has experience with that to share.
Software - Support / "Torguard VPN gltch"
« Last post by Pliny.D.Elder on Yesterday at 19:26:56 »
Hello all,
First post and a recent convert to Siduction.
"Torguard" installs with no problems as it also does in many other distros. Mandriva, Kubuntu,Mint,Sparkylinux. The only difference as to other distros, when it connects to a server I do not get the verified notification.
Here a sample of what they advised at torguard but none has worked.
Please go to more settings --> Network Tab --> Set the DNS as below:
 At Application Start: OpenDNS
 While establishing: OpenDNS
 When VPN is connected: OpenDNS
 Restart TG Client and retest.

1) Uninstall all TAP drivers, go to >> Control Panel >> System and Security >> System >> Device Manager, Scroll down to Network Adapters, right click the TAP drivers and uninstall them, deleting the driver too when asked, Reconnect, it will prompt to install TAP driver, click yes/continue, retest please.
If that fails go to step 2
2 )Flush DNS as per this guide >>> and reboot
If that fails go to step 3
 3) Go to more settings >> network tab >> uncheck "Block outside DNS" reconnect and retest.
Thanks, this is done with the vpn adapter, normal files for managing TCP stack layer and openvpn connection parameters. Is all ok now ?
Knowledge base for Mac and windows nothing on Linux.
I fell like I"m stuck in an enigma cryptor!
I can get around the computer quite well so not a noob, but Network stuff is definitely not my forte.
Is there someone out there in the siduction community that can possibly assist me.
I will attach a pic to give a better idea what I'm alluding to.

Although, I must say, it's been a long time since I saw any sluggishness from lug.udel which is the one I've been using for years.

ich habe ein Problem mit der Rechtevergabe bei Verwendung von curlftps.
Wenn ich als user manilg

Code: [Select]
curlftpfs -o allow_other test:Passwort@  ~/mnt

sehe ich den Unterordner Filme, so wie ich es eingerichtet habe, die Berechtigungen sind aber alle bei root:root.

die /etc/fuse sieht so aus:

Code: [Select]
# /etc/fuse.conf - Configuration file for Filesystem in Userspace (FUSE)

# Set the maximum number of FUSE mounts allowed to non-root users.
# The default is 1000.
#mount_max = 1000

# Allow non-root users to specify the allow_other or allow_root mount options.
