[EN] debian/siduction & systemd-boot

Hello,

Currently, I'm on openSUSE TW after having some issues with grub's menu not being recognized neither when installing Siduction - had to do it via ventoy, nor on the installed system (old netbook with uefi setup).

However, I'm considering switching to Siduction (Xfce) since both of my machines are old — desktop is i7 CPU  860  @ 2.80GHz with 16G of RAM - and it still provides enough juice for my taste (aka needs). 

One of the reasons to switch, beside the fact that I prefer Debian-style machine, is that I feel that openSUSE might switch soon to systemd-boot setup, so I wonder what is the plan for Siduction (Debian) in regard?

Right now, we don't have explicit plans in that regard. That does not mean, we will not make the switch sooner or later. Are you opposed to it because it can only start EFI executables?

Correct! My main (desktop) machine is GPT/BIOS - Gigabyte P55-UD4 mobo which still does work and it can't be "upgraded" to UEFI crap.   ("It's all for your security!")
