I have scanned a lot of old slide photos and written comments to every image.
The comments or description are possible to show with Geeqie while viewing the image, but I would like to have a better layout.
Is there any image viewer that can view images in almost full screen while the image comments or description is viewed under or above the image?

How do you write the comments and descriptions? Where are they stored?

I don't know where it's stored In Geeqie, I can see my text under "Comments" and I wrote it in Vuescan when I scanned the slides.
I try to send one scaled image as attachment the you can maybe see what you are asking for yourself. The text in the attached image is "På väg till Goa"

I'm not a Digikam user, but if you open an image with Digikam, and go to image > metadata > edit all, you have 3 types of tags that you can edit.

Yes the text is there. Download the file and open it with geeqie or gwenview. In geeqie it is visible if you open info sidebar under "comments". In gwenview I don't remember exactly but I think it's shown under "description" to the left on default view.

Gwenview can show the image description in fullscreen mode when you move the mouse to the upper screen edge...
Nomacs can show the metadata including the image description in normal and fullscreen mode as a bar below the picture...

I tried Nomacs and thats quite good, I choose "show metadata" and then in settings under Exif I unmarked everything except "image description". That is the best so far. Thanks spacepenguin

Ok, I misunderstood and viewed the image with a browser. Stupid me.
