LANG=C apt-get dist-upgrade -s
The following packages will be REMOVED:
kde-standard plasma-widgets-addons

KDE-Standard kann man gehen lassen, plasma-widgets-addons will man allerdings behalten.

kde-config-touchpad kde-plasma-desktop kde-standard kdeplasma-addons kio-extras plasma-desktop

I imagine it's time to wait.
-
yepp. please wait...
the transition seem s to go slowly
-
If you use the additional plasma widgets (https://packages.debian.org/wheezy/kde/plasma-widgets-addons) in the plasma-widgets-addons package, then you will lose them when you lose the package. However, your basic plasma desktop, panel(s), and KDE functions are all still OK without plasma-widgets-addons so if you don't use those widgets, you can d-u and there's no issue.
-
Well finally 16.04 after SID after nothing essential has done more in terms of KDE in Debian for six months;-)
-
Just made the D-U everything went throw.
-
On my workstation kde-standard uns plasma-widgets-addons are gone as of today. Apt said, there was 0 to remove. Strange case. And with the addons my kmenu (specificaly plasma.kickerdash) is gone and cant be brought back because the available amount of widgets shrunk dramaticaly also. All of this is going to fall back into place as soon as a new plasma-framework is uploaded to sid.
Only strange thing is apt not saying anything about the removal, that sounds like a bug.
I would have never let them go on my workstation.

Strange!
On 2 siduction systems, this morning, apt said kde-standard and plasma-widgets-addons would be removed, and many updates would be installed. I went ahead with the d-u, because I don't use the additional widgets, and there is no apparent damage of any kind to either system.

EDIT: Slightly OT, it appears we've got a regression of the "xrender compatibility deprecated" issue, regarding panel icons. Chromium and skype are still there where I previously parked them, but the icons are now completely transparent. An annoyance -- the packages still run when the icons are clicked. But visually it is a bit disconcerting.
-
History.log tells me, the two have been removed. But the output in my konsole does not show that. I searched it in every possible way. The history log and the output in my konsole should not differ, but they do. Leaves me clueless for now.

hehe, Devil, put your glasses on ;-)
@dibl: I notice that regression too. Also some errors in my konsole.

Yes, seeing this also
No errors with yakuake

In konsole, the visible cursor has an offset from the actual position where the next typed character appears. You can get used to it very quickly, but it's clearly a bug of some sort.

I noticed this a few days ago before this upgrade, I've just changed the font to DejaVu Sans Mono and the problem has 'gone away'
-
Regarding the icon stuff, can it have something to do with reworked breeze icons? Interesting reading about it here: https://kdeonlinux.wordpress.com/2016/04/25/performance-update-for-breeze-icons/ (https://kdeonlinux.wordpress.com/2016/04/25/performance-update-for-breeze-icons/) . I've stayed away from dist-upgrade the past few days, so don't know if theses icons are available yet.

It breaks it but it replaces it. Mine said the same. My du went fine.

kde-l10n-* are not reinstallable at the moment. If you let them go, some parts of your desktop's apps are not translated (but fully usable).
-
Hi,
after DU yesterday (I let go the kde-l10n-*) the size of the desktop-apps can´t be changed. Is this a bug or a feature? ;D
manilg
-
click & hold will do the trick ;)
("unlock widgets" first, of course)
-
No unfortunatly not; widgets are unlocked. With click and hold I only can move the widgets.
manilg
-
There is a setting when you right-click the desktop background, settings, optimizations, check "click and hold a widget to move and show its settings panel"
(might be other wording as I freely translated from my german desktop ;) )
