[EN] Good bye Axel
« on: 2021/04/21, 21:55:06 »
It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you of the passing of our siduction-core member, sponsor and dear friend Axel Beu (ab) from Hamburg. He died of a heart attack last Saturday at the age of 51.

Most of you probably never heard of him, he kept in the background but was always there when you needed him. Not only that, but he provided our infrastructure for many years. But that's not what we'll miss him for, it's for his positive outlook on life, his innovative thinking and his warm humanity. His inability to rest has cost him his life and has now given him his final rest. He will be missed by us and siduction. R.I.P.

RIP, Axel. My thoughts are with anyone who knew him. That is far too young, it must have been a terrible shock to those around him.

I didn't know him but certainly appreciated his dedicated work. Yes, much too young to leave. Rest peacefully now, Axel.

Sorry to hear that.
I was a little involved in the "art" team back in the rider and firestarter times and found my old svgs + login to the forum and saw that post...

R.I.P. Alex.

@devil  8)
I am always open for graphic design and have more time than I hoped for at the moment.
There is only one slight problem I moved years ago from siduction to arch KDE and with 2020 to arch + DWM...

Nice to see that sidcution is still up and kicking.

@se7en, good to see you around again and maybe help out with those wanting to set up dwm on siduction? I've wanted to try this WM myself...

Also I remember some of your older artwork...good stuff!

@DeepDayze sounds like fun.
Maybe open another thread if that is something the team would like to support.

Words of warning. I can help but not spit out a DWM.iso

Hi se7en,

I am happy to read that you are alive.

@all
What I can say to dwm is, install a noX, choose from xserver-xorg (or maybe wayland) what you need and compile dwm for your needs, if understand what they write on their homepage
So, it's better to open another thread first and brainstorm there.
But for sure, we/I can't support it because no other of our small team using it, and we have enough trouble to provide the environments we do in a good shape. (think, why we do not provide gnome? We do not have one person who wants to/ can maintain it, or mate ......, not enough ppl who are willing to that work).

Ps.:
Ah, and an old fresh art team member is always welcome, and one who knows what we need ........(git, svg ...we try to move away from pixel graphics as much as possible) ;)

Hey handriKL 😃

agreed noX + xserver (Wayland doesn't play good with dwm at the moment) + cloning and.patching dwm is fairly easy.
Most dwm user want to anyway patch their setup and adjust Keybindings and scripts to their liking.
Plus it is very unlikely that I switch from arch back to Sid.

But if you need some help with the artwork feel free to ask.
