Hardware - Support / Dell Keyboard KM5221W: Special key not identified

Hello,
I was lucky enough to get a brandnew wireless keyboard Dell KM5221W incl. wireless mouse.
It works right out of the box, nothing to complain about.
BUT:
The keyboard has some keys that I have not had on any other keyboard yet. Now I would like to find out if
1) siduction can separate the keys on a system level,
2) KDE is unable to separate the keys from other known keys.

The keyboard has four special function keys on the numblock area: a pocket calculator key (works, it launches KDE calculator), then a "CE" button that is supposed to clear everything in calculator program, a "+/-" key and a key that has a speech bubble on it.

Regarding the "CE"-key: I have had no success in konsole to tell the difference between this key and the standard "Entf" ("DEL") key for deleting one letter right next to cursor. Now I wonder if KDE or linux kernel is unable to tell the keys apart or if they are actually totally ok and do send same key code which I doubt.

Would KDE tell me different key scan code if I selected other KDE keyboard type? Would KDE tell me different key scancode if in konsole I load other keyboard type for konsole?
Which keyboard type would this have to be?

How can I identify for sure the difference between "CE" and "DEL" key. I have already tried evtest which gave me exactly same code for both keys.

Moin!

Ich habe heute mal testweise versucht, auf einem PC mit einer neuen Nvidia GPU (RTX 5060TI, GB206 Chip) Siduction zu installieren.

Hier meine Erfahrungen:

• ISO von der Download-Seite (03/2025?): Bootet nicht ins GUI, also neueres ISO versucht
• Aktuelles Test-ISO (Ende 12/2025): Versucht GUI / SDDM zu starten, schafft es aber nur auf einen schwarzen Bildschirm ohne Mauszeiger
• Auf Konsole angemeldet, bisschen probiert, Erfolg brachte:
• SDDM beenden,
• GUI starten über "startplasma-wayland"
• Dann in der SDDM-Konfig ein Autologin eingerichtet & jetzt bootet das System in den Plasma-Desktop (Wayland). Also Teilerfolg.

Was ich noch nicht hinbekommen habe:

• Plasma mit X
• Plasma mit X/Wayland und proprietärem Nvidia-Treiber (Karte sollte mit der Version 580 eigentlich unterstützt werden...)

Showstopper schien mir hier SDDM zu sein, dass in der Kombination GPU + Nouveau + X nicht startet...
Da ich auf dem Gerät (Dual-Boot) auch nur einen Desktop brauche & keine §D-Leistung ist das Ergebnis bis jetzt aber schon mal OK.
Fragen dazu:

• Ist das so erwartbar oder habe ich was falsch gemacht und eigentlich sollte das ISO normal in den Live-Modus starten?
• Gibt es schon erprobte Lösungen den Nvidia-Treiber zur Mitarbeit zu bewegen (Prinzipiell sollte das möglich sein, ein parallel getestetes Tuxedo OS hat das hinbekommen - habe mir aber noch nicht angeschaut, was da anders gemacht wird)

Das erst mal als Dokumentation meines Versuchs - hätte schlechter laufen können & mit neuen Nvidia-Karten hat man ja immer Potential, sich erst mal selbst in den Fuß zu schießen...

First, lxqt is not my primary DE. So I just wait until the maintainers get it right.

Second, I doubt your solution is a workaround. How renaming a package may fool apt is incomprehensible to me. lxqt-branding-debian is not a to-be-updated package.

The problem is you have two packages trying to write the same file. You could just rename one of them then the package should install. For me I would rename the one from lxqt-branding-debian.

I don't like "something like"-solutions.

But *keeping* the current (lxqt-panel=2.2.2-1+b1), not the not-to-be-successfully-installed version (lxqt-panel=2.3.2-1) by issuing

apt install --reinstall lxqt-panel=2.2.2-1+b1 let the d-u finish successfully. Then I marked lxqt-panel as *hold* (until there is a new, fixed package).
