Seriously, use
apt full-upgrade
(or the nala equivalent) once a week, at least, unless you see that there's a warning on this forum about a new package coming into Debian, or an incomplete transition of a series, like python or libqt6 or something, that is breaking things. In that case, you can use
apt-upgrade
for just as long as necessary until the problem is resolved -- usually only a day or a few days. As soon as the light turns green, go back to full-upgrade.
