Coming from Windows, I started with ubuntu/kubuntu, and it provided a good environment for learning. But after a year and 2 new versions, I found the job of configuring a new desktop every 6 months too much effort, and once I found arch and sidux (at that time), I realized there could be a better way to keep a Gnu/Linux system up to date. I still keep in touch with my kubuntu user buddies, but I'd rather handle the drama one dist-upgrade at a time.
