I learned something new today. There never seems to be a time when you can know everything about Linux. Anyway, http://http.debian.net (http://http.debian.net) is a mirrors redirector. What does this mean? Glad you asked; from the horse's mouth:
The service [mirrors redirector] allows many of the nearly 400 Debian mirrors to be made available via a single address, adapting to your network location, IP family connectivity, and service availability.
Today, I received an email from Debian stating that the mirrors redirector is now hosted on debian.org infrastructure under the name httpredir.debian.org.
Following are samples of my updated sources.list under CrunchBang 11:
##DEBIAN
deb http://httpredir.debian.org/debian (http://httpredir.debian.org/debian) wheezy main contrib non-free
##DEBIAN BACKPORTS
deb http://httpredir.debian.org/debian (http://httpredir.debian.org/debian) wheezy-backports main contrib non-free
