Caution -- python transition triggers removals
« on: 2017/09/01, 19:51:19 »

As @piper says in his totally OT post here,    ;D     a python transition is triggering removals which may or may not be damaging, depending on your configuration.  Here on a plasma/KDE destop a couple of my needed packages (gimp and wicd-gtk) would be removed, so I will wait.

Code: [Select]
The following packages will be REMOVED:
  gimp ntfs-config python-glade2 python-gtk2 python-notify python-numpy wicd-gtk zim

After @devil posted above, I let the full-upgrade go through, including the removals.  Afterward, gimp and wicd-gtk were installable again.

I just completed d-u after holding off for a few weeks until transitions settled. Went perfectly with only one package removed - libgsl2.
