Probleme mit grub2
« on: 2018/11/18, 15:31:39 »
Hallo,

Vom Bauchgefühl her in der Partitionstabelle.

Danke,
Jürgen

Code: [Select]
jf2@jf2-pc:~$ sudo efibootmgr -v

In all my years of using nvidia, I've never seen it mess with grub, this is including the XFree86 days

What is your nvidia card ?

Is this a desktop or laptop ?

How did you install nvidia ?

Do you have a xorg.conf ?

Show your boot/grub/grub.cfg or /etc/grub.d/40_custom (if using one, ignore if not)

Code: [Select]
jf2@jf2-pc:~$ sudo apt --reinstall install grub-common grub-efi-amd64 os-prober
Paketlisten werden gelesen... Fertig
Abhängigkeitsbaum wird aufgebaut.
Statusinformationen werden eingelesen.... Fertig

I might be misreading this but, why are you trying to reinstall grub ?

What happens when you use a live cd/usb stick and as root

siduction partition is sda7 right, if not change

Code: [Select]
mkdir -p /disks/sda7

mount /dev/sda7  /disks/sda7

/usr/sbin/grub-install --recheck --no-floppy --root-directory=/disks/sda7  /dev/sda

@alf

I would think grub-update wouldn't work without grub-pc-bin

which is a modular generation of grub.cfg via update-grub

I could be wrong :P   (I just don't know, never been in the situation)

You should first determine whether you want to use a BIOS/CSM/legacy-mode boot or an EFI/UEFI-mode boot
