Title: release lxde amd64 installer mistake
Post by: dieres on 2012/05/23, 00:32:40
if i try to use an existing partition to mount to "free text" mountpoint /srv,
install stops after formatting root.

Did you try to some real 'free text'?
/srv may be empty, but it still is a system directory.
That why it may stop, because the directory is already existing.

Hi,

I use a separate, fresh formatted /var partition on another plate (KDE64 system) to avoid to much traffic on my SSD. No problem with "free text" and a system directory here. Not using LVM.

Benutze keinen LVM.

I want to use /srv for my samba and vdr directories. And there was no /srv choice. Only /home /var /opt etc.
So I had to use free text.
To be precise, I use the new realease lxde amd64, not the rc1.
I have posted it here, because there was no release bug entry here, only rc1.

I will test this on another machine, this intel atom 330 board
performs sometimes quite strange.

Hi,

there is /var/tmp in the choices but I wanted to use complete /var, so I had to use "free text" also. Used 12.1 also, not the rc.
I don't guess there should be differences on this issue because of the used DE.

I think it is not a graet issue, because it is not very hard
to get the uuid with blkid and edit the /etc/fstab manually.
But the Team should know about this.
