password change
« on: 2021/08/17, 21:13:21 »
After a couple of weeks traveling, I've updated my system (which actually is still running aptosid).  For the first time ever, I was asked to change passwords for root and user.  In fact, my SDDM was stuck when I tried to login, and found out the problem when I tried the TTY.  (I needed to change the password.)

Is there a new password policy?

I've asked the same question in the german section. I guess the reason for this behavior ist the change of the password-hash with debian11 from sha-512 to yescrypt
 Have a look here
But I'm not shure about this
Wenn Windows die Lösung ist...
kann ich dann bitte das Problem zurück haben?

Thanks for the Info!  That makes sense.
