[DE] Kernel 4.6 und Nvdia legacy Treiber 340.96

Hallo,
kann es sein dass der neue (wohl noch experimentelle) Kernel 4.6 noch nicht mit dem Nvidia GLX Legacy Treiber 340.96 läuft?
Es wird wohl der "nouveau" Treiber geladen und der macht wohl nur ne Auflösung von 1280x1024 statt der 1680x1050 die der Monitor eigentlich standartmäßig kann.

Hatte andere Infos gelesen, das der Treiber dabei sein soll.
Quelle weiß ich gerade nicht.
Auch beim Intel-Treiber soll es große Verbesserungen geben.

hmm, mal sehen ob ich da mit experimentieren weiterkomme.
Notfalls kann ich ja wieder auf den letzten 4.5er zurück.

Meant to post awhile back. I use Nvidia 304.131 Debian driver. Here is a list of results.

1.  Of ALL experimental 4.6 kernels only 4.6.0-rc2-siduction-686-pae i686 worked without any  problems and all others would not load any driver.

2. The new final 4.6.0-1 loads nouveu instead of the 304.131 driver.

I'm not a code person so I haven't a clue why one particular 4.6 kernel installed, worked perfectly and no others will load the driver.

I could imagine that it could well be that this is related to the recent switch to gcc-6.
It seems a common issue right now. Some patches floating around but no clue whether this/those will work yet.

No, the simple cause is, there is no nvidia driver, instead of 367.18 beta, which supports kernel 4.6 without patching the driver.

Why does this 4.6.0 kernel work on all my systems even if I remove and then reinstall.  Sorry, but there has to be a difference. Many, many updates since I first installed it almost 2 months ago.

But 304.xx != 340.xx so maybe the old driver does not have the functions, which was changed in kernel 4.6.
