[EN] Desktop vanishing
« on: 2015/10/18, 15:34:10 »
Hi all,

I hace a fully d-u'ed kde-next installation.
I observed (even before the big d-u recently) one strange thing on my box:

Starting a mp4 by doubleclicking in krusader opens the video in vlc and lets vanish my desktop and turn into black. After I  just can switch by Alt+Tab between the apps open.

Does anybody else experience this behaviour?

good to know, so it seems it is something on my box.
I will try out other file types opening and look in the logs.

Shall I have findings, I will return.

Mylo, I will occasionally get dropped to a black screen (fully du'd, with kdenext). It does not happen often enough for me to replicate the problem. Double -clicking an mp4 in krusader opens VLC, where the video plays just fine. I never tried alt-tab, but I will next time it happens. I have had to shut down each time it has happened. That is the default action for my power button, and it will still bring up the 'shutdown' dialog box where I am able to select 'shutdown' or 'reboot' with the mouse.

It may be totally unrelated of course, but I thought it worth mentioning.

thanks, yes seems comparable to what I experience. I wll further observe when it comes up again and will test whether it can be reproduced.
