 When I would use an sux in the cli (xfce-terminal) I see

Using the same method in a Non-Graphical environment as in Alt-Ctrl-F2 ..
I see no such error.
 Strange, when the sux wrapper had been developed to transfer X credentials (as per my understanding)

Using a simple

su In the xfce-terminal while in a GUI Desktop results in no errors.
And launching a GUI app i.e. (Mousepad) no errors from the su root prompt.
  Strange again.. As for years I have adapted to using either gksu or in kde kdesu to launch a GUI app from a CLI to prevent the dreaded error

 Would / Can someone Update me on the sux
I have read of the BUG in Debian, Fedora & Gentoo back as far as 2009.
What is the Known status?

Once at root I can do

Which actually does bring up system settings in root.

I went to login screen and changed the default language from english to german, rebooted and it worked, my login screen was in german.

In the terminal after using

I don't think it is DE specific but rather X specific

Not a great loss. However as the BUG is so Old, I was wondering if it will ever go away.

You can use suxterm instead of sux. I doubt, sux will ever get fixed.
