[fixed]Kernel 4.8.1 config error in latest DU
« on: 2016/10/15, 11:15:58 »
Did a DU late night ( maybe not the best time to try this) and got this error as shown in /var/log/apt/term.log:

Code: [Select]
Setting up debhelper (10.2.2) ...
Setting up console-setup (1.151) ...
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of linux-image-siduction-amd64:

Package linux-image-4.8.1-towo.1-siduction-amd64 is not configured yet.

Errors were encountered while processing:
 linux-image-4.8.1-towo.1-siduction-amd64
 linux-image-siduction-amd64

So before I do anything stupid, what's up?

Hi,

I don't know what's the reason but
Code: [Select]
apt-get -f installfixes it.

Thanks. Thought it was worth asking before I did that, and yes the new kernel will install.  If it's of use, this is part of  the messages as the process completes:

Code: [Select]
Setting up linux-image-4.8.1-towo.1-siduction-amd64 (4.8-2) ...
vmlinuz(/boot/vmlinuz-4.8.1-towo.1-siduction-amd64
) points to /boot/vmlinuz-4.8.1-towo.1-siduction-amd64
 (/boot/vmlinuz-4.8.1-towo.1-siduction-amd64) -- doing nothing at /var/lib/dpkg/info/linux-image-4.8.1-towo.1-siduction-amd64.postinst line 263, <STDIN> line 2.
The link /initrd.img is a dangling linkto /boot/initrd.img-4.8.1-towo.1-siduction-amd64
/etc/kernel/postinst.d/initramfs-tools:
update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-4.8.1-towo.1-siduction-amd64
W: mdadm: /etc/mdadm/mdadm.conf defines no arrays.
/etc/kernel/postinst.d/zz-update-grub:
Generating grub configuration file ...
