Ich finde pulsaudio jetzt auch langsam ausgereift und unproblematisch. Aber ich habe seit dem neuen Adobe flash-64bit ein Problem:
Sowie eine flash Anwendung gestartet ist, haben keine anderen mehr Sound?

Das kann ich bei mir nicht nachvollziehen. Weder bei Iceweasel 3.5.13 noch bei firefox 4.0b8pre. Alles 64-bit.
Wie sieht den bei Dir 'pavucontrol' playback aus? Dort sind bei mir Amarok: Audio Stream und ALSA Plugin: ALSA Playback verfügbar. In der Configuration habe ich 'Audio Stereo Duplex' ausgewählt. 'Audio Stereo Output' funktioniert genauso.

'vlc-plugin-pulse' installiert?

Dann nochmal in VLC:

Tools -> Preferences -> Audio -> Output -> Output Module

und da eventuell 'Pulseaudio audio output' explizit einstellen. Bei mit steht 'Default'.

das mit vlc-plugin-pulse und dem einstellen als Puleaudio und default läßt den vlc kalt

wie das jetzt auch immer gekommen ist
ich habe pulseaudio ja nochmal entfernt und dann doch nochmal installiert inkl. dem vlc-plugin-pulse
dann wieder pulseaudio entfernt
jetzt gibt der vlc mir ein Ton aus
