This is older HW not supported by nvidia 495.46-1 (as far as I understand it).

"...  but on debian we are still on 20.08 from the mailing list on Debian KDE ... "
Just to clarify, I am on Siduction (Debian Sid) without any Preining Stuff and KDE is at 21.08, that's not too far behind. Let's see how the Debian Devs get it done to catch up ;)

As long as Cinnamon exists in Debian, you can continue to use it.
There is no need to modify any repos.

Solange Cinnamon in Debian existiert, kannst Du es auch weiterhin nutzen.
Da müssen auch keine Repos modifiziert werden.

Software-Support (DE) / Siduction und Cinnamon Desktop

Hi Siduction Followers

I notcied that with the wintersky release a cinnamon ISO was dropped. And that there might be no future cinnamon support. Does this mean that I have to change to another desktop environment ? Or can I stay on cinnamon, and if so do I need to modify any repos to keep my cinnamon up to date?
Sorry if this might be a stupid question - please ignor a Newbies ignorance.

Installation - Support / Debian KDE repository and updates
« Last post by Mte90 on 2022/01/24, 11:24:48 »
Hi everyone,
so for a long time prening released his personal repository to have in Debian the latest updates from KDE but he stepped back few days ago https://www.preining.info/blog/2022/01/future-of-my-packages-in-debian/
Also, some weeks earlier he said that now it is possible to use the original debian repository because they are updated and there is a team on Debian KDE with new people following it.

The latest KDE release is 21.12 but on debian we are still on 21.08 from the mailing list on Debian KDE I wasn't able to understand what are their plans for this new release. I see that they released some minor updates of minors of some KDE packages already in the repository, so they are indeed working on that.

There is someone that have better information about the status? I liked so much when on debian sid there were more fast KDE updates as I am following the development.

Installation Support (EN) / Re: Experience on Btrfs
« Last post by jodumont on 2022/01/24, 04:45:52 »
Personally BTRfs didn't work for me
I tried twice the installation
- 1st time was: BTRfs with encryption and hibernation SWAP
- 2nd time was: BTRfs with encryption and swap in a file
both time LUKS (encryption) and MDADM (softraid) gave me a hard time and the filesystem (/) end in read only.

[UPDATE] AhhA! to be sure to not giving false impression on BTRfs, I just installed 2 more times
- 3rd: on the same computer of the 1st and 2nd try but with an encrypted ext4 without Hibernation SWAP and everything works fine.
- 4th: on a different computer with encrypted ext4 and Hibernation SWAP and I ended with the same issue around MDADM and luks with a read only filesystem.
