Or with other words: Even tools of computing have to fullfill human needs :-)

I want to print in foto quality on my HP Photosmart. The HPLIP project doesn't offer me some functions for excellent foto printing, but the proprietary turboprint does. So I've bought turboprint.

With eposon printers the results should be very good with free driver stufff, but I can't estimate, because I've no epson printer.

Kind regards,
  Holger

I also use a turboprint driver for a Canon printer.

But, this is a situation where a Windows VM can also be a good solution, if you have enough speed and memory to do it.  And you can use samba as a bridge to the Linux OS to pass the document over to Windows for printing. (Of course a USB stick will work too.)
