I will use an old laptop (Thinkpad x60) together with some old computer speakers as a music machine in my garage. The laptop battery will not take any charge, and I have to have the charger connected always to make the laptop work.
The question is shall I take out the battery or not?
The laptop works as well with the battery mounted or not mounted, my feeling is that it would be better to not have the battery mounted, maybe less heat and energy used?
What's your opinion?

Thanks, thats a new view on this thing, but if it works as I think there would be no difference between a broken battery or no battery regarding this issue about the power effect contra cpu frequency or?
I do have a 20v 65w charger but also a 20v 90w (for T410) that works also. For my use, playing music from spotify or streaming through the web browser maybe the lower cpu frequency will be enough?
I have red a lot of answers on the question if it's ok to use laptops without battery but I have not yet found an answer about using a broken battery contra no battery. Will there be less/more heat, less/more energy and so on.

I will start to use the laptop in the garage tomorrow, with the 65w power supply and without battery, if I notice any lags I can always try with the 90 w power supply.
