How do you remove Firefox and not have KDE programs installed.  If I continue, 90mb of disk will be used.  I am trying to trim down, not beef up.

Nevermind as aptitude solved my problem.   aptitude is one handy tool.

As this is a bit strange, is there a chance we can see the output, where KDE files were supposed to be installed? What is your desktop environment? We can't reproduce this behaviour for now.

I mean to tell ya it was a lot of KDE programs, but,  my installation was trashed yesterday, system would hang completely with no control except to power off  yesterday, and I had to re-install.
I just typed sudo apt remove firefox and only firefox was displayed as being a candidate for removal.
At this point I have no explanation or reason as to why the previous condition existed.
Thanks for your reply and I wish I was able to provide the information you requested.

Thanks for coming back to me. My guess is your system was somehow in a b0rked state, because removal of firefox should never trigger install of kde packages.

I agree with you 100% as I was completely taken aback by all the KDE it wanted to install.

Nevermind as aptitude solved my problem.   aptitude is one handy tool.

There is no single perfect apt tool. Each solver algorithm has its weaknesses. Trying several tools to find a solution for a given problem is a common strategy.

Totally agree with you.  Use the tool that works.
