[EN] Randomly rebooting
« on: 2017/12/05, 20:49:00 »
During the last two months my box has been randomly rebooting. Some days, it may run for a whole day, others it reboots serveral times a day. It may reboot during load, but also when ideling (no apps started).

When the box shuts down, it just shows a black screen and then I'm back into boot screen. No messages whatsoever

I'm on
Code: [Select]
Linux siductionbox 4.14.2-towo.1-siduction-amd64 #1 SMP PREEMPT siduction 4.14-5 (2017-11-27) x86_64 GNU/Linux

When looking at the logs, I see several lines of this before a shutdown
Code: [Select]
dec 05 20:19:39 siductionbox vnstatd[750]: Error: Unable to use database "/var/lib/vnstat/eth0" or backup database "/var/lib/vnstat/.eth0".
dec 05 20:20:09 siductionbox vnstatd[750]: Error: eth0: Invalid database timestamp.
dec 05 20:20:09 siductionbox vnstatd[750]: Error: Unable to use database "/var/lib/vnstat/eth0" or backup database "/var/lib/vnstat/.eth0".

I have no idea where to start looking for problems. Any ideas out there...?

Sounds like hardware to me, RAM  or PSU come to mind for that kind of behaviour.

Thanks, devil. Did a memtest and found nothing so I replaced my PSU with a spare one. The box has been running without problems since that. Once again, thanks!
