var/log/journal immer voller : may i delete it ?

Langsam aber sicher wird

var/log/journal ....full of data  ( Daten seit dem 07.Juli 2014 )

wird das eigentlich von siduction-system irgendwann mal gelöscht oder sollte da jeder user selbst hand-anlegen ?

ich überleg grad, ob ich das einfach, bis auf die neuesten löschen könnte ?
oder iss das dann wie damals bei windows...dann fehlt mir ein wiederherstellungs-Zeitpunkt ?

by the way: gibt es weitere solcher Sammel-dateien, welche eine Festplatte voll laufen lassen täglich ?

Hello rueX,

better define SystemMaxFileSize in /etc/systemd/journald.conf.
See 'man journald.conf' for details.

i read the man ...and google ...

example:
journalctl --disk-usage
Journals take up 645.7M on disk

most have:
SystemMaxUse=20M (but that is EACH date/or day: so 20-date/days=200M ...40date/days=400M
ForwardToSyslog=no

so i decided to have:
mcedit  /etc/systemd/journald.conf
To make this change on your systems just uncomment "SystemMaxUse=" and make the value 100M. Delete the old logs (if you don’t need them for debugging). Finally, restart journald using “systemctl restart systemd-journald”

If a siduction-partition is 12GB - is 650M-journal normal or should i really minimize ... ?

Is there a standard limit ? i can use ?

if '/' is 12 G - it is 13G to small :D
