Just installed Siduction Xfce4 to HD today...
All is working great except CUPS...
....
This machine has 5 partitions and CrunchBang, Wheezy, Squeeze etc.. all work fine Out of the Box with Cupsd..
In fact all network printers are detected automatically..
Not so with the New Siduction install.
 Any Help appreciated..
   cups 1.5.2-3
So, here is my Cups error message in Jobs Tab of the CUPS Browser Utility ..
Code: [Select]

The error is the cups Test Page and happens with every driver I tried for the HP Laser 1300..
Which sits on a network machine..used ipp and ipps protocols..

Tried adding some packages such as

Were you trying to print a pdf? From what app? If it was Okular, that could be Okulars fault. Try a different app, like maybe Libre-Office or Xournal. I managed to print PDF from these today.

THanks for the Reply...

I am attempting to print a "Test Page" from what ever Printer install interface such as..
Cups Config Interface (localhost:631) ..or
System-Config-Printer  app...or
Foomatic Printer Config app..

 nothing of my own..

I noted in google search that the above error message was a BUG in earlier CUPS versions..
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups/+bug/532009
.....there are more/other examples.

However, the thread began with a problem on my OFFICE Network. When I arrived Home and booted to my HOME network all worked perfectly. ??????

I must investigate while keeping in mind that on the same Laptop neither my CrunchBang, Wheezy, nor Squeeze installs have Problems on either OFFICE nor HOME networks with Printing nor Connections.
....Strange...
Perhaps I will replace the Siduction smb.conf with the Wheezy smb.conf and watch the results.

Update...
I wanted to finish this thread rather then leave the solution hanging out there.

Truth is........ I did nothing to improve my situation except that I added samba server & system-config-printer (the cups/gnome GUI). This put me in a Master server mode and perhaps discovery ensued. Perhaps through some restarts of the system the Win Servers out on my Office Network gave in and let me in...don't know.. I can't remember having this problem in the past. Anyhow, seems the install sees the printers both Home and Office.
