Hello
# apt policy firefox

Then it should be something wrong with firefox profile. I will delete it to start fresh.
Thnak you
-
I had the same years ago.
It was something with my profile. I really dont remember, but a quick search helped me then. Good luck!
-
I use both SRWare Iron (aka Chrome) and Firefox. Firefox crashes more often than Iron. I use the Firefox package from the Debian repo. We used to have a forum member named Piper who always used the Firefox nightly builds from Mozilla, so that may or may not be a better way to get it.
-
I started with a new profile and crashed again!!!
I use firefox for more than 5 years and this is the first time that i have crashes.
How i can use nightly builds?

-
Maybe an addon is the reason for the crashes.
Did you try to start FF from the console?
-
No problems here:
dpkg -l | grep firefox
ii firefox 116.0-2 amd64 Mozilla Firefox web browser
ii firefox-l10n-de 116.0-2 all German language package for Firefox
-
dibl I will try that version
hendrikL I disabled (not removed) all addons but the problem remains
paco I have the same version
# dpkg -l | grep firefox
ii firefox 116.0-2 amd64 Mozilla Firefox web browser
Is it possible the problem to be kernel related?
I booted with debian kernel and I don't have any crash yet
-
Unfortunately, it will probably not be that simple. My kernels come from @towo's craftsmanship and I have no problems. I guess the devil is in another detail.

what does the output of the terminal telling you? Start FF via terminal/Konsole, and paste the output here.
-
It would be great to see also the output of "inxi -GS" and "apt policy"!
-
Thank you
Starting the ff from console does not produce any info.
As of the other commands see bellow:
# inxi -GS

Maybe you can find there some useful information.

I had this problem a few months ago. I did apt purge firefox, then apt install firefox and that fixed it for me. When I installed it I installed only firefox (not the 2 additional packages that were purged along with firefox) and that fixed it. There may have been a mismatch in the versions of the 2 extra packages that I did not install.
