[EN] Kernel hassle
« on: 2023/03/08, 17:42:35 »
Hello,

I've been having problems with the Siduction kernels on and off since Christmas. At first I thought it was my setup because no one else is reporting it. However, the difficulties do not occur with every version.

What is happening specifically:

When shutting down with certain kernel versions, there is a crash with kernel panic and my Raid5 is out of sync. This means that after the next boot, a resync of about 6 hours is due. This is reproducible for the affected kernel versions.

With the current version linux-image-6.2.2-3-siduction-amd64 the problem has reappeared. The predecessor linux-image-6.2.2-2-siduction-amd64 runs perfectly. I would say that every fourth kernel version causes problems.

Is this only happening to me? Is this generally known?

=============================================

Hallo,

Was passiert konkret:

Hello,

with the current version linux-image-6.2.2-4-siduction-amd64 there is also a kernel panic at shutdown.

I have made a screenshot. Should I upload it?

==========

Hallo,

mit der aktuellen Version linux-image-6.2.2-4-siduction-amd64 gibt es auch einen Kernel-Panic beim Herunterfahren.

Ich habe einen Screenshot gemacht. Soll ich den hochladen?

I've also got a kernel panic on shutdown with 6.2.2-4 (screenshot attached).

With 6.2.2-3 I got an oops and multiple warnings on shutdown, see below

[20793.484525] kernel: sysrq: Keyboard mode set to system default
In the end I used the magic sysrq sequence REISUB to reboot the machine and shut it down while in grub.

==========================================================================================

Same behavior here. With the current kernel version 6.2.2-6-siduction-amd64, there is no crash on shutdown anymore. Thanks towo.
