For the record:

Today there was a new flashplugin-nonfree package. I did d-u, no problem with flash, the package is still installed and working. 32-bit here.

Is this maybe 64-bit related or some other hickup?
Ok, you can't code, but you still might be able to write a bug report for Debian's sake

According to my apt/history.log flashplugin was updatet during d-u, on amd64.

I had had the kate-hickup and had to use apt-get -f install to complete the d-u, but the message when I tried again to d-u, after this, was "0 packages to install", so it should have completet.

So: I don't know what went wrong with the pluggin.

I had to do a second du after the apt-get -f install.  There were many packages left to update.
