Clean install from Indian Summer failing to d-u
« on: 2015/12/25, 20:52:29 »
I have had an install for about a year that I converted to kdenext mid-year; a recent attempt to convert back to debian gave me an unbootable machine. I decided to tr a fresh install from KDE Indian Summer 64. This installs fine, reboots OK but when I try and d-u (after Logout from  X11 session, switch to tty1 with Ctrl-Alt-F1, login as root,  "service lightdm stop"), I can't get past the user login screen. The d-u seems to go reasonably well with one dpkg --configure -a right at the end

I have tried this three times with the same result. Any ideas? Is Indian Summer still upgradeable?

I (think) I've managed to install from 15.1.0 after a few black screens, but at least I'm fully d-ued!
