I remember that I haven't been using siduction for a while..., apologies for being so far away from such a wonderful system and community.
But let's get to what matters in my doubt:
Before we had to go to a terminal outside the (X - graphical environment) to perform an apt update ; apt dist-upgrade.
My doubt refers to this, that is, how to correctly do the dist-upgrade, still outside the "X" or in the terminal in graphic mode?
Best regards,

Holla Paulo,
Welcome back!
In these days, it isn't necessary to do an "apt update; apt full-upgrade" outside X, normally not.
If you want to shut down the xserver, you need following command
"systemctl isolate multi-user.target" and go back "systemctl isolate grapical, target"
But take care, a "python" transition is going on and a "kdepim" transition, read what apt wants to do!

In most cases I run a apt full-upgrade (or a nala upgrade) under KDE/Plasma.
But the advantage is quickly put into perspective when I have to restart the system anyway.

Thank you very much and it's always good to be welcomed here hendrickL, you among the rest are the ones who always come like a white knight to my rescue.
Another thing, not now you probably won't see me far from here
Best regards,
PCreto

I run apt (or nala) after logging out of x, no problem with this. T
he only advantage I see is, it would be teasier to ldo a research when package should be removed.
