Title: Android: who knows a script for batchencoding videos
Post by: Lanzi on 2011/08/22, 14:22:59: I own a new google-Android smartphone (Nexus S)
and I would like to reencode some of my short (1-5min) HD-holidayvideos (1920px) to a more convienient android size and have them in the end in mp4 (my nikon digicam produces mp4 in *mov containers), maybe already in another folder

Since I have a lot of videos it would be nice if I could batchencode all the videos from a folder to another one, with mp4 and only 480 or 720px.
The aspectratio should be maintained!

Who know enough of mencoder or mplayer to help?

Post by: michaaa62 on 2011/08/22, 14:56:41: winff and tablet-encode should know enough about the tools you mentioned. There are a couple of presets for different devices floating around in the net. You might find the appropriate for your needs there, may be.

winff remeinds me to soundkonverter. looks great. I found a h264 profile, but its not working. a konsole is opening and then I ran the follwing:

The program has gui and cli. You can define convert-profiles and it has an batch-mode.

Ich nutzte HandBrake um Videos für mein HTC Hero zu konvertieren.

Das Programm hat eine gui und cli. Man kann Profile definieren und die Videos als Batch konvertieren lassen.
