Today's version (http://tech.fortune.cnn.com/2012/08/07/the-pc-looks-like-its-dying/?hpt=hp_t2) of the story we have been hearing for 5 years. Personally, I do not look forward to hosting, or viewing, my 750GB of data on a cell phone!

I look forward hosting my data in a private family cloud all over germany and viewing it via an implanted interface in my brain which connects to the brainlan router... Thus I have all available realtime in my dreams. There is another controller in my brain just in case my dreams were hacked by a virus.

I always look forward to my walks in the forest without pc, cellphone or even a watch. The only cloud that I can see is the ones in the sky, nobody can reach me and I can't reach anybody as long as they are not in sight. It's really nice and even if you don't believe it, I exist even though I'm not connected, life goes on and I feel free ;)

And another thing, the only thing we know about the future is that we don't know so much about it. There have always been people written about the future, normally they don't have a clue. It's like today’s economists, they are also always guessing and never have anything right, still the world are ruled by their rubbish.

I think the one thing we can say about the future is that it will be very much like the present. If it wasn't then we'd think we had suddenly gone mad or something crazy had happened to the world. The present flows into a recognizable future.

The present flows into a recognizable future.
For sure, that is the NEAR future -- for the DISTANT future, it's not so easy to know.
Here's what we know 100% for sure:
"The future is coming."
"Die Zukunft kommt."

That kind of meta history I am really interested in:
Where are the moments in time, when people could and should have seen clearly the future, because it was so simple:
- There have been many Jews who fled Germany before 1938 just in time, because it was all cristal clear.
- It should have been cristal clear that world war one will be an industrial killing field and not a medieval hero fight, because this had been allready the case in the american civil war.
---
- What will be peak oil be in the future?
- What if we all get pleasure dependent with games from the cloud (vilde, don't take my little horror dreams as positive)
-
It's like today’s economists, they are also always guessing and never have anything right, still the world are ruled by their rubbish.
That is pure game theory:
If a correct science of a game exists, it correctly predicts the future of that game. Reading from these predictions all the gamers will then play differently!
This is a special problem of economics science ...

I am a dinosaur. For heaven's sake, I still wear a wristwatch! I don't even own a notebook PC, just desktops.

I am a dinosaur.
Yeah, I'm getting there pretty quickly too, although I now get the time from my cell phone instead of my wristwatch. But the wristwatch is still on the night stand by my bed, if I need it.
Seriously, I have a nice little netbook and an android phone. They are fine, more or less, to browse the web and make short e-mail messages, and of course they can travel with me, which the desktop cannot do.
But when I need to run my Windows 7 VM and update/compile my 2,000 page web site, the kiddy toys just don't even come close. Never mind encoding a video with devede. So it would be a different life altogether if I couldn't have a powerful desktop system, which means they aren't going anywhere.
