Title: Siduction on a Dell 13-5368 13.3 Screen?
Post by: JakkHakk on 2017/03/07, 03:08:48
Hi, I just got a Dell Laptop 13-5368 and am looking for the best distro to run on it. One thing I have noticed after running Mint, LinuxLite and a few other distro onthis laptop is that the dispayed graphics are WAY TOO SMALL!! I tried changing the screen resolution from 1920 x 1080 (Full HD) down to lower resolutions and all it did was create smaller squares within the displayed area. How ridiculous! I'm kind of sorry I bought it. But now I'm past the return date, so I need to deal with it.Will this distro adjust to the screen real estate like Windows and Mac does? Most Linux distros that I have tried do NOT adjust. They seem to be one size fits all.Though they really don't fit... unless you are younger and have eyes of a Hawk!!Any suggestions will be much appreciated... 8-)

Why not give the live media a try? I guess you could also play with the dpi settings, if I understand the problem correctly,

1920x1080 on a 13.3" display is going to be pretty painful. You might want to investigate whether an android OS will run on that, e.g.

First of all, I tried clicking on the Quote link in the message and it does
nothing! I even tried in a different browser, again... nothing!

Oh well...

How do I deal with dpi? I've never had to worry about that before.

As far as Android goes, I can't stand google and their lack of intelligence!
I have enough issues with it on my phones and tablet... WISHING I could
install a regular Linux OS on all devices. I would NEVER install it on my
laptop. But thanks for your input... I do appreciate all input.

But the display on this laptop is ridiculous! I mean, windows looks good on
it, but I have tried 4 to 5 linux distros and all are so small that I have to
wear 375 reading glasses to see!

You are right that the "Quote" button doesn't work. If you want to quote, click on reply and  then under the place that you shall write the replay you have the text from others, there you can click "Insert Quote"  that will work.

This (http://askubuntu.com/questions/197828/how-to-find-and-change-the-screen-dpi) might help with explaining dpi
