Software Support (EN) / Can't change WIFI password
« Last post by finotti on Yesterday at 22:38:52 »
I'm having a weird problem.
I had to change my WIFI password for work (every 6 months).  This time, when I click on the WIFI icon (in KDE's panel) and edit the connection I enter the new password, it does not save.  I can click OK or Apply, and if open it immediately after, it shows the old password.
When I click on Apply, the Cancel button remains blue (instead of gray), so I am not sure if it is waiting for something.  If I click on OK, it closes the configuration window immediately, but does not save the password (as mentioned above).
It's set to "Store password for this user only (encrypted)", which is what I'd like.  I tried to set for "Ask for this password every time" for now, but it also fails. After some time showing "configuring interface", it asks for the password again, even though I am sure the password is correct.
One thing I've noticed is that KWallet does not prompt for the user password as it does sometimes, and as I'd assume it would when saving a new password.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Software-Support (DE) / Thunderbird in Deutsch?
« Last post by Geier0815 on Yesterday at 13:13:36 »
Moin Moin,

Software-Support (DE) / Workaround gefunden // Thunderbird-Crash beim Starten
« Last post by cs on Yesterday at 12:39:32 »
Hallo,
Code: [Select]
ExceptionHandler::GenerateDump cloned child 4337
ExceptionHandler::SendContinueSignalToChild sent continue signal to child
ExceptionHandler::WaitForContinueSignal waiting for continue signal...
Code: [Select]
thunderbird --safe-modehelfen nicht weiter ("disable all add-ons", "Reset toolbars and controls").

A new appstream is in the latest updates, and it fixed the issue.

@titan- you might be interested in: https://github.com/lxqt/lxqt/issues/470#issuecomment-414133387
#ifndef Q_OS_WIN
    // Prohibit using sudo or kdesu (but allow using the root user directly)
    if (getuid() == 0) {
        if (!qEnvironmentVariableIsEmpty("SUDO_USER")) {
            std::cout << "Executing Dolphin with sudo is not possible due to unfixable security vulnerabilities." << std::endl;
            return EXIT_FAILURE;
        } else if (!qEnvironmentVariableIsEmpty("KDESU_USER")) {
            std::cout << "Executing Dolphin with kdesu is not possible due to unfixable security vulnerabilities." << std::endl;
            return EXIT_FAILURE;
        }
    }
#endif

just delete these lines from dolphins main.cpp and recompile it - you will be able to run dolphin with sudo again.

if one login as root it should work too again.
