Probleme mit einloggen

Hallo,
das Problem mit grub2 ist gelöst und schon tut sich was neues auf.Installiert wurde von der DVD. Da diese ja schon etwas älter ist, so kamen über 1 GB an Updates zusammen.Also machte ich heute früh mein update und danach ein upgrade.Das ganze lief anscheinend auch sauber durch.
Nach dem ich vorhin von der Arbeit kam gab es einen Neustart.
Problem: Einloggen in gnome geht nicht. Ich probierte auch gnome-classic mit gleichem Ergebnis.Einloggen in der Konsole geht problemlos. Bei der grafischen Ansicht kommt auch bei falschem Passwort der Hinweis das die Anmeldedaten falsch wären.Mit richtigem Passwort klappt es allerdings nicht. Das ganze tut so als würde sich einloggen und ich kann die Maus bewegen aber nix auswählen. Der Anmeldebildschirm steht dann da mit meinem Benutzernamen und den schwarzen Punkten fürs Passwort und nix geht mehr
Hat vielleicht dazu noch jemand eine Idee?
Ich vermute mal, das es am Update von heut früh liegen könnte.
Ein erneutes update mit upgrade brachte auch keine Verbesserung

Zuerst nur ein Update. Nach dem Problem mit einloggen auch ein d-u.


Probeweise lightdm probiert: Anneldefenster verschwand aber der Hintergrund von lightdm blieb.
Mit gdm3 ging überhaupt nix.
Also bin ich wieder beim ursprünglichen ssdm.


Selbst nach 15 Minuten hing das einloggen noch.


Evtl muss ich wirklich nur einige Tage abwarten und regelmäßig ein d-u machen damit es wieder funzt

Sorry.
Vor einem Upgrade bzw. dist-uprade machte ich immer ein apt update und dann ein apt upgrade.


Danach ging es nicht mehr mit einloggen im Grafikmodus. Auf der Konsole klappte es aber mit einloggen.


In der Hoffnung das Problem zu beheben machte ich noch ein apt update und dann ein apt dist-upgrade

Sei nicht so umständlich, die Befehlsfolge heißt

nicht mehr mit einloggen im Grafikmodus.

Es sind zwar auch wieder xorg-Pakete aktualisiert worden und gerade erst mesa-Pakete, aber grafische Loginmanager kommen schließlich. Geht nur nicht weiter.

Logge Dich in einer virtuellen Konsole ein, führe

Daß das Probleme geradezu anzieht, sollte klar sein. Du hättest auf #siduction-de nach einem aktuellen Build fragen können. Einer des Teams mit Zugang hätte Dir (so nicht gerade eines vorliegend) brandaktuell eines des gewünschten Flavors erstellt.

Edit: Den unteren Abschnitt abgetrennt, um ihn (ausführlicher abgehandelt) unter Haeufigere Images separat zu diskutieren.

Hurra, wir haben einen neuen Maintainer

Jetzt will ich mich nochmal zu Wort melden.
Das d-u hatte da keine Verbesserung gebracht, aber mir kam dann die rettende Idee: Ich hatte gnome-control-center und gnome-shell auf hold gesetzt gehabt. Ein ändern auf unhold, installieren und voila....auch in der Grafik ging wieder das einloggen
Allerdings vermute ich einmal, das der große Berg an Updates auch zu dem Fehler beitrug.
Unter der alten Installation waren diese Pakete auch auf hold gesetzt und es gab keine Probleme mit einloggen.
Hauptsache es läuft wieder. In den letzten Tagen bekam ich auch etliche neue Erkenntnisse. Eine wäre z.B. das die Hilfe hier im Forum fantastisch ist.An dieser Stelle nochmals vielen, vielen Dank an alle!

I have about half  a year of experience with siduction only. So I am curious to learn. But you (as others here) just repeat unsubstantiated rules.

'full-upgrade' (use of hold) should not be used in the same sentence, it's just so wrong

Maybe I would agree, if you give me one single reason.

It will break your system, especially in a "rolling release",  although this is not a "true" rolling release, it is the closest thing to it (debian sid), but, you seem like a smart mate (insert sarcasm) , your on your own, it is your system after all, you can do as you wish/please/desire,  no-one is telling you what to do on your system.

Just don't ask for support.

The problem here is, there are no rules for using sid, substantiated or otherwise.  It is not recommended for use by the official Debian project:

So, either you listen carefully to the advice of those who have been using and supporting it for many years, or you do what feels right to you and end up with a broken system.  It's that simple.

@dibl and @piper - there are some unwritten rules and laws:

* don't be the first with every dist-upgrade, read the forum first
* use your brain if possible
* don't type: "Yes ..." if apt ask to remove essential packages
* read the apt output, before hitting <Y> (doubts? )
* if in doubt, hit <N>
* don't use apt dist-upgrade --assume-yes

and some others that i might have forgotten
