Title: Rogue kernel!
Post by: sedonix on 2017/04/10, 20:26:33
This kernel showed up yesterday out of the blue. Was it supposed to be released?
It quits with no screen and drops to a console prompt.

Purge that kernel because it is

a) wrong versioned
b) experimental with cause
c) only for advanced users
d) now in the right version reuploaded

Btw, i can't do anything with a phrase like
Quote
It quits with no screen and drops to a console prompt.
If you want help testing, you should provide relevant infos like logfiles!
And btw, that is not a upgrade-warning, because this kernel does not come on regular dist-upgrade!
I move that thread.

hello peeps,
the 4.11.0-rc6 (from extra/experimental) works for me with my plain old intel hardware.

@sedonix, a little typo in the version number doesnt make it a "rogue" kernel.
And I still don't understand how you got it installed without consent.
But hey, every excitement is welcomed during the freeze ...

greetings
