Title: FN F2 shortcuts keyboard nothing happened

Hi there,

fresh d-u at 32bit-siduction

FN-F2 or FN-F5

nothing happened !

LXDE :

what is the right code in

~/.config/openbox/lxde-rc.xml 

please !??

Hi ruex, as a standard keyboard normally does not have FN-keys (just Shift,Alt,Strg,Win...), you should explain your hardware a bit more :).
I guess you mean specials keys some (not all) notebooks have, but every manufacturer uses other settings and keycombinations.
For example, on my Thinkpad, Function-F5 does switch Wifi on/off, while brightness is handled via Function+Home/End. And I installed the package tpb ('tpb - program to use the IBM ThinkPad(tm) special keys') for that.

hi der_bud,

my notebook: HP nx9005 and : ich stellte es, bis kernel-32bit-towo. 3.16 ...mit FN+F2 heller.
Diese FN-Taste ist exakt zwischen strg und win-Taste.

Egal: da seitdem die Helligkeit weder mit Energiemanagement in KDE-Systemsettings geht, noch in LXDE ist seit ca. 3-4 Wochen in LXDE in KDE oder im Kernel abgeändert worden ... sodass ich mit keinem command heller oder dunkler stellen kann, ansonsten ist meine Hardware tipp-topp (und läuft auf einer anderen partition hier sogar noch per FN+F2)

Programme wie backlight verändern auch keine Helligkeit hier.

irgendwie erinnert mich das an abwesenheit von powerdevil... ist das installiert?
möglicherweise irre ich mich auch gewaltig.

dh, wenn du mit kernel 3.16 bootest, dann funktionieren die fn tasten, und bei 3.17 nicht mehr? wenn du das verifizieren kannst, würde ich mich an towo wenden.

?
gibt es das Paket mit   solchem Namen bei siduction wirklich ?

Wurden möglicherweise bei irgendeinem DU Teile von acpi entfernt? mindestens acpid und acpi-support-base  sollten da sein. Außerdem könntest Du testweise mal mit 'acpi_backlight=vendor' in der Grub-Kernelzeile booten.

Hallo

Manchmal liegt es auch am falschen Tastaturmodell.
Man kann zB bei KDE das Tastaturmodell für den entsprechenden Rechner in den Systemsettings auswählen

in der Konsole gibt es auch eine Möglichkeit:

also:

hab ich auch:
acpid und acpi-support-base

kde-workspace-bin: /usr/lib/libpowerdevilui.so.4.14.2 etc.

dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration ...mach ich jetzt und reboot ...nach d-u ...und: nichts ändert sich:

keine FN Taste aktiv.

Also update:

FN-Taste immernoch tot !


bis heute auf siduction LXDE UND KDE 32-bit 3.17.2 (auch 3.17.1) keine FN-Taste mehr aktiv: tut nicht.

Auf demselben Notebook läuft noch aktuell:  Siduction 3.12 bis 3.16.....alles ok:   FN-Tasten funktionieren !
Selbe keyboard-Tastatur-Belegung wie 3.17 und 3.16 und 3.12 Kernel.(Posting s.o. keyboard-configuration wiederholt durchgeführt in Varianten)


...was habt Ihr seit den letzten Updates mit Tastatur etc. (FN-Keys) alles verändert ?

mit heutigem d-u 32-bit LXDE
funktioniert alles wieder mit FN keys !

( ...ein Wunder ?! )

...würde gerne 'mal erfahren, wer da jetzt - an was - etwas verändert hat ...


 :)


edit: ich kann wiedereinmal NICHT  vor dem 11.11.2014 editieren, um ein "solved" in meinen Anfangs-Posting zu schreiben .)
