Title: Failed to detect live media
Post by: finotti on 2023/01/04, 16:26:58
I was trying the new Masters of War release as a live USB drive, but I cannot boot  with it.

The laptop (Lenovo ThinkPad T440p, running siduction already) boot from the media, I get the GRUB boot screen, but when starting I get

Code: [Select]
Probing devices [sda1] [sda2] [sda3] [sdb1] [sdb2]

a few times, and then

Code: [Select]
Failed to detect live media

Note that I am using Ventoy (https://www.ventoy.net/en/index.html) to have multiple ISOs in the same USB drive, but the previous siduction ISO, as well as a few other distributions, all run fine with it.

I also checked that the MD5 sum of the ISO is correct.

Any suggestions?

My experiences with Ventoy are mixed. To rule it out as a cause for the problem, could you dd the ISO to another stick and try booting it?

Indeed, putting it in a USB drive by itself worked...  It is strange that the old version works and that the new version works in a different machine, but I guess this solved the problem (even though I was hoping to avoid a separate USB drive).

Thanks!
