This version from the Debian unstable repo works correctly -- I use spreadsheet and writer, with no issues. AFAIK, the help is included in this package.
Your problems with installation are not understood ...
At the tty1 console (my preference), or in your terminal window, as root
apt update && apt install libreoffice
What errors do you see?
