[Solved] Cinnamon 3.0 Release

Hi everybody !
I'm new here at this forum, although I've visited it sometimes as a guest (I don't know it there's a proper welcome thread ... )

Well, let's get down to business:

Yesterday I updated my Siduction box, and some of the new packages were from Cinnamon Desktop. I didn't realize that they were from a major version number (3), and updated after all 

cinnamon-l10n - 3.0.0-1
cinnamon-session - 3.0.0-1
cinnamon-session-common - 3.0.0-1
gir1.2-cmenu-3.0 - 3.0.0-1
libcinnamon-menu-3.0 - 3.0.0-1

Well, now my desktop doesn't work (no window title bars, no menu, no alt+F2, no alt+Tab ...). Just the desktop icons, from where I can open a Nemo window and do a couple of things.
Then I tried to install the rest from Cinnamon 3 (cinnamon 3 and cinnamon-core 3), but there are some packages still not available.

Yes, i was hit by those packages, too, though i had seen some commits from maxy.
I just didn't expect the results to appear so quickly.

I downgraded the packages with:

Thanks musca for the "/var/cache-downgrade" line. I wouldn´t have downgraded my desktop in this simple and efficient way without this hint.

We missed two packages of the 3.0 series in the downgrade action:

cjs (2.8.0-1, 3.0.1-1)
libcjs0 (2.8.0-1, 3.0.1-1)

Luckily theese didn't interfere with cinnamon 2.8.

I noticed it was necessary to downgrade the cjs-package because otherwise my sound-volume-applet failed to start.

I didn't experience any failure due to cjs, @Harakiri. Actually, I have v.3 installed right now. I suppose I got lucky 

They updated some more packages, but I don't think it's safe yet, since "cinnamon" package and many others are still at 2.8.7. Anyway, if I find any new error, I'll let you know. 

The new packages are:

And the whole bunch of risky packages, including cjs:

with the next sync (in two hours?) all needed packages will be available in the unstable repo, i hope.
So, please make sure apt-get doesn't want to remove cinnamon.

For test purpose I just dist-upgraded with the packages from incoming and I'm still at business.

OK, I can now confirm that Cinnamon 3 update is safe (to me at least ... )
AFAIK, there's been no dramatic changes between 2.8 and 3.0, but it it works great!

Cinnamon 3.0.4 released.  That's four updates in five weeks, see changelog. 

Debian disables gtk-overlay-scrollbars by default.  +1 for increased desktop-friendlyness.
