[EN] DAC only works when volume turned to max [solved]
« on: 2014/12/18, 09:07:22 »

I'm using a Audioengine D3 DAC with my laptop.  It works, but only if I set volume to 100% using the pulseaudio volume control app.  Otherwise it is just silent.  At max volume, the output is much too loud to listen to.  The only way I've managed to use it is through headphones that have their own independent volume control.

There are 10 types of people, those who know binary and those who don't.

This sounds like an alsa-driver problem. I assume alsa-user mailing list is where you may expect help.
Ok, you can't code, but you still might be able to write a bug report for Debian's sake

I managed to fix this issue by setting "flat-volumes = no" in /etc/pulse/daemon.conf
