[EN] Wacom Tablet
« on: 2025/07/27, 16:35:23 »
I have just built a new computer and have siduction installed and up to date.

For some reason, my Wacom tablet keeps disconnecting sporadically.  Since it was running fine in the previous computer, which was running aptosid, I assume that there is no problem with the tablet itself.

Here is the message I got in dmesg after a disconnect:

Code: [Select]
[ 2989.864064] wacom 0003:056A:0374.0008: hidraw6: USB HID v1.10 Device [Wacom Co.,Ltd. Intuos S] on usb-0000:0c:00.0-12/input0

journalctl -xe showd no related error.

I tried different ports, and it did not help.  Also, other devices, like mouse and keyboard, do not seem to disconnect at all.

It happens sporadically, even when it is not being used or touched.  (I just see the notification in plasma.)

My wife uses the tablet extensively to teach, so this is a big problem for us...  Any help would really be greatly appreciated!

Here is some info about the system:

libwacom-bin, libwacom-common, libwacom9 and, if you're using X11, xserver-xorg-input-wacom are installed?
Wenn Windows die Lösung ist...
kann ich dann bitte das Problem zurück haben?

Thanks for the reply!

Yes, they are:

Code: [Select]
$ apt search libwacom

libwacom-bin/unstable,now 2.14.0-1 amd64 [installed]
Wacom model feature query library -- binaries

libwacom-common/unstable,unstable,now 2.14.0-1 all [installed]
Wacom model feature query library (common files)

libwacom-dev/unstable,now 2.14.0-1 amd64 [installed]
Wacom model feature query library (development files)

libwacom9/unstable,now 2.14.0-1 amd64 [installed]
  Wacom model feature query library

xserver-xorg-input-wacom/unstable,now 1.2.3-1 amd64 [installed]
  X.Org X server -- Wacom input driver

It works perfectly when it is working, it just disconnects sporadically.

We are still having trouble with this...

I've bought a new tablet, to make sure that the tablet itself was not the problem, but it still keeps disconnecting.

You can see messages in the Xorg.0.log (the full file here: https://luisfinotti.org/misc/Xorg.0.log)

Another strange thing: I thought of reinstalling the drivers, but removing libwacom-common tries to remove a lot of the system.  In fact, the list is so long (600 to be removed) I cannot post it in here.  You can see it at https://luisfinotti.org/misc/libwacom.txt.

This cannot be right, can it?  (I have the same behavior in my laptop running siduction, though.)

First: My Wacom Bamboo works as it should.

Please have a look into your xorg.conf. If There are old entries about wacom, delete them. Then have a closer look at xsetwacom.

Have a look at https://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/Grafiktabletts/ and use deepl or something like it to translate
