FIXED. Kernel 5.15.1-3 hangs raising networking
« on: 2021/11/11, 13:03:05 »
On 3 systems here, the new kernel boots correctly.  On 1 system, it hangs raising the network interface. This is the system:

Code: [Select]
System:    Host: dibl-patience Kernel: 5.15.1-1-siduction-amd64 x86_64 bits: 64 Desktop: KDE Plasma 5.23.3

Device-2: Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920 type: USB driver: snd-usb-audio,uvcvideo
           Display: x11 server: X.Org 1.20.11 driver: loaded: nvidia resolution: 1: 1920x1200~60Hz 2: 1920x1080~60Hz
           OpenGL: renderer: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB/PCIe/SSE2 v: 4.6.0 NVIDIA 495.44

Info:      Processes: 260 Uptime: 8m Memory: 31.27 GiB used: 2.47 GiB (7.9%) Shell: Bash inxi: 3.3.07

As shown, it boots and runs problem-free with all previous kernels. Photo attached.

Is this really Kernel 5.15.1-3?
Inxi says otherwise.

Hi Reiner, I ran inxi with the last working kernel. The photo shows the boot hanging for 5.15.1-3. It shows the death of the e1000e network driver.

Hmm, I was wrong.
It wasn't the Nvidia Graphics driver.
It is here the Network resp. its manager that doesn't start.

Unfortunately its on a remote box from a friend.
I will try to guide through the steps to remove the new kernel and
restore the previous version later on.
