[EN] No ntp

Hi folks
am in the new release now but it would not keep the time until I installed ntp.
Now it does keep time automatically.

By the way the current office offerings are better with libreoffice which I am now installing.

I note KDE is Platform Version 4.7.2 (4.7.2), whereas sid/unstable has only KDE 4.6, as in aptosid. Guess this comes from Experimental but is less than complete as yet.
Hopefully we will have a full KDE 4.7.2 to draw on in the repos in the near future. For I guess we are now a rolling release.

Happy New Year

If you look in your /etc/apt/sources.d/ folder, you'll see that KDE 4.7.2 is coming from the qt.kde Debian experimental-snapshot repo.  Sid hasn't caught up to it as yet.

actually KDE 4.7.2 comes from the kde-qt repo not experimental which has 4.7.4

deb http://qt-kde.debian.net/debian experimental-snapshots main

I think you missed where I put in the qt.kde in my post.  No matter, I should have just used the deb line.  Still hoping 4.7.4 will be put in a snapshot repo. I don't know if I want to start using that giant preferences file to keep 4.7.4 pinned so I can pull it from experimental.  It's nice having KDE as up to date as the rest of Sid.

Oh well,
moot point, a lite version but good enough,
Hopefully we have a full KDE 4. whatever in a repo soon, but doubtless sid/unstable will catch up eventually with kde-qt repo.
Hope gtk does not get dumped though, or big browser problems will follow. Perhaps 4,7.4 is more complete in experimental?

What is missing in KDE SC 4.7.2?
4.7.4 in experimental has exactly the same packages, and to the best of my knowledge both sets are complete.

I've installed 4.7.4 from Experimental on my test install and have had no issues in fact a few glitches from 4.7.2 were fixed in 4.7.4..so it is very much complete

With 4.8 on the horizon I'm sure that 4.8 may make its way to sid rather than 4.7.4

No offense Devil.
silly things like Games, and perhaps things I'll never use anyway.
Couldn't find much more in Synaptic it was all sid/unstable KDE 4.6 not 7.2
Might have a look at KDE7.4 in experimental, it's just constant evolution on and on.
