Title: Error intallation Siduction21.2 Cinnamon release
Post by: Luigi on 2021/09/25, 13:50:38
Hallo,

I have this error at the end the installation:

Quote
Running "chroot" ("/tmp/calamares-root-m3cwa4k8", "update-grub")
    ..  Target cmd: ("update-grub") Exit code: 1 output:
 /usr/sbin/grub-probe: error: cannot find a device for / (is /dev mounted?)

My system layout is
nvme0n1p1 ---> EFI (260Mb)
nvme0n1p3 ---> Logical Volume for root
sda3--->Logical Volume for home

During the mounting the disks in the graphical interface pop up a message that say "not found a Efi partition mount. A efi partition mount is necessary and the minimal size is 3148000 MiB" (i don't remember the precise size..)

Of course i have mounted  my EFI partition and the recap before the start of installatio is right. But the size is 260Mb.

The installation ends in failure with the message shown at the begginnig.

Any help is appreciated.

Thx

Luigi

I have no idea why calamares does that, and I don't know cinnamon at all. Maybe it's a bug. But you can try 'cli-installer' to see if that works for you.

@Luigi
Actual for me it is the same as for devil. I don't know much about installing a cinnamon system. But do I right understand your post - when I install my KDE- System I do not mount any system-partition before the installation. All necessary things will be done by the installer. Could it be that this is the problem?

Maybe I am totally wrong?! And the sice of the efi-partition as you described is to big?!
