Cannot find installer
« on: 2018/03/07, 15:40:28 »
Greetings!

With any luck, & help from you guys, I'll transform this moment of helpless derpitude into one of memorable experience.

Our office has an old Wheezy server that does three things:
1) saves files
2) runs dropbox
3) apache server for little office how-to instructions

Wheezy is on it's last lap & if my hunch is correct, I can install a rolling release distro (siduction) and never have to install a server OS again at this office, hardware willing.

After booting up the latest sid flux iso in Virtualbox for testing, I cannot find the installer. There's no desktop icons as described in the manual.

What gives?

Ok, so I found out there's the "cli-installer" option. Why is this not mentioned in the manual?

Tried the lxde iso & again, no link to install as per the manual.

Why?

Noticed another post here about this "Calamares" thing.  Again, no mention of it in the manual.  I mainly use Arch and Void on my personal machines & even installing Debian servers I've never seen this "distro-independent installer" called calamares.  I just wonder why none of this is mentioned in the manual.

Well, just noticed a moderator post stating that the manual has been in "deep sleep" for some time, there's no time to update it, & following it is not recommended.  I guess this is where my siduction adventure will end, for now.

Cheers
