[EN] apt update Translation-en unavailable
« on: 2013/06/10, 14:47:18 »
For some time now when I do apt-get update, it attempts to fetch translation files many times until finally giving up. On this occasion it tried each about 40 times but sometimes it is hundreds.
Code: [Select]
Get:96 ftp://ftp.spline.de unstable/non-free Translation-en_AU
Ign ftp://ftp.spline.de unstable/non-free Translation-en_AU
Get:97 ftp://ftp.spline.de unstable/non-free Translation-en
Ign ftp://ftp.spline.de unstable/non-free Translation-en
Fetched 308 kB in 4min 14s (1,210 B/s)
Reading package lists...

There are similar lines for main and contrib, and also deb-multimedia and virtualbox repos but not debian repos.
dist-upgrade completes successfully but obviously the update takes a very long time. It is a Desperado Reloaded installation that has been regularly upgraded. I tried changing sources to udel or siduction.org but no difference. Any ideas how to fix? Did I break my locales?

siduction.list :-
Code: [Select]
deb http://packages.siduction.org/experimental unstable main contrib non-free

deb ftp://ftp.spline.de/pub/siduction/base unstable main contrib non-free
#deb-src ftp://ftp.spline.de/pub/siduction/base unstable main contrib non-free
deb ftp://ftp.spline.de/pub/siduction/extra unstable main contrib non-free
#deb-src ftp://ftp.spline.de/pub/siduction/extra unstable main contrib non-free
deb ftp://ftp.spline.de/pub/siduction/fixes unstable main contrib non-free
#deb-src ftp://ftp.spline.de/pub/siduction/fixes unstable main contrib non-free

Code: [Select]
$ locale -a
C
C.UTF-8
en_AU.utf8
en_GB.utf8
en_US.utf8
POSIX

There is no *non-free* subrepo in siduction/base. And I assumed there is no *contrib* subrepo either, but the later obviously didn't cause an error.
Ok, you can't code, but you still might be able to write a bug report for Debian's sake

Thanks michaa7, I will remove those.
I added an edit while you were posting, it happens with main as well. I just didn't post all ~180 lines from the command output.
Code: [Select]
Get:95 ftp://ftp.spline.de unstable/main Translation-en
Ign ftp://ftp.spline.de unstable/main Translation-en

Edit: removing contrib and non-free from the siduction base and extra repo only stopped some errors. The fixes repo does have contrib and non-free, so I still get errors from there. Still get the same in all repos except debian.
