ok - but kernel headers are not the kernel - so one might encounter problems compiling prop. video-drivers, but thats it.

This happens frequently if you have multiarch enabled because the necessary i386 package sometimes lags a bit behind depending on build issues, what mirrors you're using, etc.

So yes, the best thing to do is post and warn other users, but don't get too panicked about it unless it doesn't resolve in a day or two.
