Title: Cauton -- be careful with autoremove
Post by: dibl on 2019/12/20, 19:58:20
On a d-u today, I saw this:

Code: [Select]
Calculating upgrade... Done
The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required:
  libdrm-dev libgles1 libglvnd-core-dev libglvnd-dev libopengl0 libx11-xcb-dev libxcb-dri2-0-dev
  libxcb-dri3-dev libxcb-glx0-dev libxcb-present-dev libxcb-randr0-dev libxcb-render0-dev libxcb-shape0-dev
  libxcb-sync-dev libxcb-xfixes0-dev libxdamage-dev libxfixes-dev libxshmfence-dev libxxf86vm-dev
  mesa-common-dev x11proto-damage-dev x11proto-fixes-dev x11proto-xf86vidmode-dev
Use 'apt autoremove' to remove them.

I have not had time to check, but I don't believe such packages as libopengl0 can really be removed.  Will need to see whether these removals are safe to do.[/code]

Got rid of all of them days ago. Just dev junk.

Just ran d-u and then autoremove, and all looks good.

Thanks  @sedonix.

Yes still a wise idea to check what apt will remove when doing autoremove. If there's something you want to keep don't remove it.
